MidPoint is optional for implementation of this control.

Implementation of this control without midPoint is feasible. However, midPoint provides considerable advantages for implementation of this control, making the implementation more efficient and reliable.

MidPoint can provide data essential for management of licenses and other intellectual property rights.

Reporting capability can be used to provide data about number of active users in each system, which is essential information for management of licenses. Dashboards can be set up to continually monitor this information. Meta-data provide information about origins of data, which may also be useful for license management purposes. Application inventory can be used as an asset register, enriched with intellectual property information for each application. Planned license management feature will provide automated controls over license use, utilization and limitations.
