Password management

MidPoint can manage user password in several ways. MidPoint can store password (in encrypted or hashed) form in midPoint identity-repository. MidPoint can distribute the password to connected identity resources, e.g. in case that new account is created or password is changed. This is a way to keep account passwords synchronized. As password management is centralized in midPoint, company-wide password policies can be centrally enforced, such as password complexity rules and retention policy. MidPoint is automatically maintaining password meta-data, such as information when the password was changed and who has changed it. Self-service user interface contains mechanisms for self-service password management and password reset.
