Password management

MidPoint can manage user password in several ways. MidPoint can store password (in encrypted or hashed) form in midPoint identity repository. MidPoint can distribute the password to connected identity resources, e.g. in case that new account is created or password is changed. This is a way to keep account passwords synchronized. As password management is centralized in midPoint, company-wide password policies can be centrally enforced, such as password complexity rules and retention policy. MidPoint is automatically maintaining password meta-data, such as information when the password was changed and who has changed it. Self-service user interface contains mechanisms for self-service password management and password reset.
